At Octaine (“we”, “our”, “us”) we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our services, website, mobile applications, and connected platforms (collectively, the “Platform”).
This Privacy Policy also describes your rights and choices. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled as described here.

0. Key Definitions

Personal information means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked to you.
Octaine Group means Octaine and its affiliated entities under common ownership or control, and any current or future brands, products, and services offered by those entities.
Service Providers means vendors that process personal information on our behalf and under our instructions.
Partners means third parties you may interact with through the Platform, such as event sponsors, payment providers, verification providers, or marketing and advertising partners.

1. What Information We Collect

We collect personal information from three main sources: (1) information you provide, (2) information collected automatically when you use the Platform, and (3) information from partners and other third parties where permitted.

A. Information you provide

  • Account Data: Name, email address, username, password, and other details used to create and manage your account.

  • Fitness and Performance Data: Ride logs, power output, heart rate, cadence, and other telemetry, including calculated metrics and insights used to provide features and personalization.
  • Betting and Payments Data (where applicable): Wagers placed, betting history, outcomes, transaction details, and wallet information (including cryptocurrency wallets if used).
  • Verification Data: Information used to help confirm identity or eligibility, support anti fraud and anti cheating, and enforce Platform rules.
  • Communications: Messages you send to us or post through the Platform, including support requests, surveys, forum posts, and feedback.
  • Marketing and Preferences: Newsletter sign ups, communication preferences, interests, and consent records where required.
  • Biometric Data (optional): Rider verification metrics such as video recordings or weight checks, collected only when you choose to participate in a feature that requires them and where permitted and required consents are obtained.

 B. Information collected automatically

  • Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, app identifiers, operating system, crash logs, access times, pages viewed, actions taken, and referring URLs.
  • Approximate Location: General location derived from IP address or similar signals.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We and our partners may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, local storage, and similar tools to support core functionality, analytics, fraud prevention, and marketing.

 C. Information from partners and third parties

We may receive information from payment processors, verification and anti fraud providers, analytics providers, marketing and advertising partners, and event partners. This can include payment confirmation, risk signals, eligibility confirmations, marketing attribution, and aggregated reporting.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to operate, improve, and protect the Platform, and to communicate with you. The purposes below are not mutually exclusive.

We may also send marketing communications about the Octaine Group, including updates, new features, events, offers, and content that may be of interest. Where required by law, we will send marketing communications only with your consent. Where permitted by law, we may send marketing based on an existing relationship or our legitimate interests, and you can opt out at any time.

We may use limited information such as your email address, general location, and engagement with our messages to measure and improve communications. Some emails may include tracking technologies that record actions such as opens and clicks.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (for certain jurisdictions)

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:

  • Contract: to provide the Platform and perform our obligations to you

We share information with Service Providers that help us operate the Platform, such as hosting, analytics, customer support tools, communications delivery, fraud prevention, payment processing, identity verification, and marketing infrastructure. C. Partners and public features

Event Sponsors and Partners: If you participate in a challenge, event, or prize based activity, relevant performance data such as rankings, metrics, or eligibility status may be shared with sponsors or displayed as part of the event experience.
Other Users: If you participate in public competitions or leaderboards, your name, avatar, and performance data may be visible to others based on your settings and the nature of the activity.

D. Advertising and marketing partners

We may share limited identifiers such as email address, device identifiers, or similar information with advertising and marketing partners to:

  • Measure campaign performance and attribution
  • Deliver relevant offers

Opting out of marketing does not affect service related messages such as security, account notices, transaction messages, or important updates.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, how it is used, and legal requirements. Where we no longer need personal information, we will delete it or de identify it, unless retention is required or permitted by law.
